The Wow!Gold New Edition builds on the improvements introduced in Wow!Bronze and Wow!Silver, offering clearer design, more accessible content, and expanded support materials for teachers and pupils
1. Improved Graphic Layout and Learner‑Friendly Design
The new edition features a redesigned layout that makes each page easier to navigate and suitable even for children with special learning needs. Key enhancements include:
- A clearer page structure with tasks aligned in straight lines
- Pictures and texts placed logically for easier reading and comprehension
- Instructions placed in dedicated boxes for better task separation
- A colour‑coded instruction key: blue for task instructions, purple for homework, orange for bonus activities
- White answer spaces and more room for writing
Most pages have been content‑edited to support pupils of all abilities. This ensures every child has the chance to succeed and work at their own pace:
- Fewer compulsory tasks for all pupils (a strong argument for parents who worry about “finishing everything”)
- Bonus tasks on most pages for fast finishers and gifted pupils
- Optional tasks that allow pupils to choose what they want to work on, encouraging independence and responsibility
Teachers also gain access to a wide range of photocopiable black‑and‑white materials available on the Academy:
- Extra tasks for each Unit
- Varied exercises for grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and inclusive colouring‑in tasks

2. Bringing Pupils Closer to the Real World
A major new feature is the use of real photos of places, people, and everyday activities in both the Workbook and Class Book.
The Workbook now includes a dedicated section, The World Around Us, always found on the 7th page of each Unit. This section:
- Helps pupils explore the world around them
- Encourages them to practise language through relatable topics (e.g., reading or creating a blog/vlog)
- Provides comprehensive practice across skills: reading, speaking, listening, grammar, and vocabulary
3. NEW: Extra Photocopiable Exercises for Fast and Gifted Pupils
To accompany the vast majority of Workbook pages, teachers will find:
- One additional black‑and‑white exercise per Workbook page
- A variety of task types: gap‑fills, matching, crosswords, colouring, vocabulary and grammar practice, reading comprehension, and more
- All materials available in the photocopiable section of the Academy
A suggested methodology tip: Create a “worksheet stockpile” by placing printed black‑and‑white exercises in a box or folder. Pupils who finish early can independently choose a sheet that corresponds to the Workbook page or Unit they are working on.
